Generation of dissipative solitons and noise-like pulse from figure of eight fiber laser

We demonstrate for the first time, a passively mode-locked fiber with a net dispersion operating in both dissipative solitons and noise-like pulse regimes using a mode-locking mechanism of nonlinear amplifying loop mirror.
