DEHYDRATION OF THE CRYSTALLINE LENS: A POSSIBLE MEANS OF EXTRACTING THE HYPERMATURE CATARACT

Some results of satisfactory operations for the extraction of intumescent cataract lenses after their dehydration with a 50% solution of glycerol are described. The advantages of this technique, which facilitates expeditious and optimal seizing of the capsule of the lens, are outlined and discussed.
