Injection, internal combustion engine with an injection system and method for producing and injecting an emulsion into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to an injection system (1) for introducing fuel into a combustion chamber (3) of an internal combustion engine (5), having a first high pressure source (7) for a fuel; a second high pressure source (9) for an emulsifiable with the fuel medium (47); an injector (11), which communicates with the first high-pressure source (7) and to the second high pressure source (9) in fluid communication, wherein the injector (11) includes an injection valve (15) and a pilot valve (17), said pilot valve (17 is set up) for actuation of the injection valve (15). It is provided that the injector (11) having an admixing apparatus (19) which is formed and arranged for mixing of highly pressurized medium (47) to the fuel to form an emulsion within the injector (11), wherein the pilot valve ( 17) (the first high pressure source 7) is in fluid connection so that it can be acted upon with the pure fuel under high pressure in order to actuate the injection valve (15).
