ALINHAMENTO ESTRATÉGICO NA GESTÃO PÚBLICA DE UM MUNICÍPIO DO OESTE PAULISTA

One of the current challenges faced by managers is to implement the objectives defined in strategic planning, because this process involves the alignment of goals and actions at different levels and sectors of the organization. Thus, this research arose from the need to demonstrate to public managers that planning and strategic alignment are important management tools for decision making and better use of public time and resources. Thus, this study aimed to understand how the planning and strategic alignment occurs in the public management of a municipality in the West of Sao Paulo, focusing on the Social Assistance Secretariat. For this, the research was carried out using a qualitative, descriptive, case study approach. From this work, evidence was found that strategic planning is an instrument that must be used, as it enables the strategic alignment of agencies, entities and servers to government goals and, thus, facilitates public management policy for good results to the governed.
