Honey as an indicator of radioactive contamination; Il miele come indicatore della contaminazione radioattiva

1991
In the years following the Chernobyl accident, measurable concentrations of 134Cs and 137Cs have been found in honey samples (max. value for 137Cs was 180 Bq/kg in a multifloral honey in 1990). In order to assess whether honey is a suitable indicator for radioactive contamination, 100 samples from 50 sites were analysed.
