Display method and portable electronic device applying same

The invention discloses a display method and a portable electronic device applying the same. The portable electronic device comprises a display panel with a backlight module. The display method comprises the following steps of: closing the backlight module when a rotation event occurs; waiting a time period; and starting the backlight module. Accordingly, even if the portable electronic device has limited efficacy per se, image processing cannot be synchronously and quickly finished during rotation; and through the method, a user is not required to bear time lag of a picture or mosaic interference so as not to produce uncomfortable feeling.
