The invention discloses a method for preparing methyl dichlorosilane through catalytic hydrogenation of methyl trichlorosilane. The methyl trichlorosilane, a catalyst A and hydrogen are led into a pipe reactor for reaction, a reaction product is subjected to post-treatment to obtain the methyl dichlorosilane, and the pipe reactor comprises multiple main reaction pipes mutually and parallelly arranged, heat exchange jackets are arranged outside the main reaction pipes, net racks for fixing a catalyst B are movably inserted into the main reaction pipes, a detachable end plate is arranged at least one end of each main reaction pipe, every two adjacent main reaction pipes are connected through an elbow to form a reaction channel arranged in a detoured mode. The catalyst A and the catalyst B are supported catalysts using activated carbon as carriers, the active components of the supported catalysts are at least two of Pt, Ni and Co, the average particle size of the catalyst A is smaller than or equal to 5 microns, and the average particle size of the catalyst B is greater than or equal to 5 mm. By the adoption of the method, higher yield and selectivity can be achieved.
