Two‐component model of pyrocarbon and its effect on material parameter analysis

The results of static cold‐wall pyrolysis and deposition experiments suggest a ’’two‐component model’’ for pyrocarbon deposition, particularly in fluidized beds. By means of this model it is possible to explain the formation of different structures of pyrocarbon. These structures can be correlated with resultant properties after neutron irradiation.
