Development and Performance Evaluation of Groundnut Stripper

2008
Hand-held power operated ground stripper was developed at Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, and evaluated its performance for ground nut pod stripping. Study showed that the operational speed and plant moisture at the time of stripping had greater influence on stripping output, pod damage, cleaning efficiency and stripping efficiency. The groundnut stripper gave better results when it was operated at 400 rpm and plant moisture was 29 percent. Economically, the cost of stripping was appreciably reduced with groundnut stripper compared to conventional practice.
