Social Impact through Entrepreneurial Actions

2018
This symposium highlights the opportunities resulting from the desire to resolve social challenges, and the role that entrepreneurs and business enterprises can play in generating ethical and sustainable solutions. The key objective of this symposium is to explore how the practice of sustainable entrepreneurship is a solution when faced with social challenges such as ending poverty, fostering innovation and sustainable development, enabling sustainable production and consumption behaviors, and harnessing the power of partnerships made between civil society, government, and the private sector, among others. Taken together the papers in the symposium broaden our understanding of factors that have come to shape the practice of sustainable entrepreneurship and opportunities for new venture creation to generate social impact.
