Metastatic prostate cancer presenting with bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy

2019
Abstract Background Prostate cancer is a slow growing tumor and it is unlikely to have subjective symptoms before late locally advanced or disseminated disease develops. The most common sites of metastasis in prostate cancer are bones and regional lymph nodes. Involvement of inguinal lymph nodes in prostate cancer is very rare especially in the absence of pelvic lymph node involvement. Observation We report a case of a metastatic prostate cancer presented with bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy at initial presentation without pelvic lymphadenopathy. Conclusion This case report emphasizes considering metastatic prostate cancer as differential diagnosis of inguinal lymphadenopathy and signifies the importance of full clinical examination including digital rectal examination in such cases.
