Patient-controlled analgesia for burn patients: a preliminary report.

1988
Summary The introduction of patient-controlled analgesia for burn patients is reported. It has been used for 18 postoperative patients and five patients with acute thermal injury. The system has been found to be easy to use. Wide variations in patient morphine consumption have been seen. Patient-controlled analgesia may have a role in the management of pain associated with burns.
