The value of quality-adjusted survival analysis for evaluating the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine as the adjuvant therapy for tumor

There are many special advantages of traditional Chinese medicine such as the adjuvant therapy for cancer. Because research quality is uneven,the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine for cancer therapy remains to be further confirmed. It is important to find suitable methods for evaluating the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine using western scientific methods. Quality-adjusted survival analysis,which come from the western medicine,integrated the quality of life and survival time into a single comprehensive evaluation method. Qualityadjusted survival analysis included QALYs,Twist,Q-Twist,TIO,quality-quantity cox regression analysis,and so on. Quality-adjusted survival analysis has some advantages,such as highly sensitive,sample and cost saving.Compared with the quality of life or survival time,Quality-adjusted survival analysis may be more suitable for evaluating the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine.
