Hydraulic Characteristics of Rubble Mound Structure in relation to the Internal Waterlevel Fluctuation

2004
For simulation of hydraulic characteristics of permeable slopes, a numerical model was developed based on the model of PBREAK by modifying the flow descriptions of the “internal region”. To verify and calibrate the modified model, a series of hydraulic model experiments were carried out in a 2D wave flume. Also, sensitive analysis was performed to study the influence of selected parameters on the computational results. Using the modified model, the authors investigated the phenomena of wave Run-up and Run-down above the pours slope, the internal waterlevel in the pours medium. The computational results of the modified model were compared with those of PBREAK model and experimental results of hydraulic model.
