Dielectric properties of olefin-based thermosetting resin for application to electrical insulating material

2014
This paper deals with dielectric properties of olefin-based thermosetting resin to understand the applicability to electrical insulating materials. Dielectric properties such as dielectric constant, dielectric loss, volume resistivity, and dielectric strength of poly-dicyclopentadiene are evaluated as well as other properties such as moisture absorption, viscosity, and glass transition temperature. Those properties of epoxy resin are also evaluated for comparison. As a result, it is elucidated that the poly-dicyclopentadiene has the potential for application to an electrical insulating material.
