Avaliação de resíduos de agrotóxicos em arroz e feijão e sua contribuição para prevenção de riscos à saúde da população consumidora

2011
This study was conducted to determine the pesticide residues in rice and beans, the basic cereals in Brazilian eating habits, and to estimate the risk to public health. The cereals samples were collected by Sao Paulo Sanitary Surveillance (Paulista Program for Food Analysis Control). Pesticide residues were analyzed by multiresidue methodology in 44 rice samples and 44 beans samples. Pesticide residues were found in 26 (59%) rice samples and 11 (25%) in beans samples from 0.05 to 0.1 mg/kg, being within the maximum residue levels. The main residues found were propiconazole in rice and procymidone in beans. The estimated health risks by exposure to propiconazole through rice intake corresponded to 0.15 e 0.58% of the acceptable daily intake (ADI) and exposure to procymidone by beans intake was 0.02 e 0.1% of ADI for adult and children populations, respectively. The other active ingredients had no pesticide residues within or at values greater than the used methodology detection limit.
