Suitability of Electron Microscopy for Routine Diagnosis of Plant Virus Diseases in Extension Service

A collaboration between Plant Protection Service and University has been installed in 1993 to support the diagnosis service. By using the electron microscope (EM)-facilities of the Institute of Plant Pathology, the efficiency of plant virus diagnosis could greatly be improved. Advantages and difficulties of electron microscopic standard methods in routine service are examplified by several virus diseases.
