The impact of active employment measure on domestic demand in Latvia

This article studies the impact of the active employment program on domestic demand in Latvia, sponsored in part by the World Bank. The program consists of paying a 100 LVL (about 142 EUR) stipend to the unemployed. The unemployed, in exchange, perform various jobs for the local governments.
