Robert Rauschenberg builds a painting

1990
The artist and the author have a discussion in the studio and some studio materials and techniques are discussed, somewhat coincidentally. The work in progress during the interview is a silkscreened work on aluminum. Illustrations show some of the work in progress with the artist and his assistants. After the application of paint, heat lamps are brought over to be applied to the freshly inked image. The artist prefers to reuse his screens and has them washed immediately after use.
