The invention discloses a method for processing a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) call when called information is failed to acquire, which comprises the following steps that: when an authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) server is failed to acquire a message of a first mobile microwave access worldwide interoperability VoIP service (WVS) server or when a first WVS server is failed to find, an indication message and/or contract information of a called terminal is transmitted to a second WVS server. The invention also discloses a system for processing a VoIP call when the called information is failed to acquire. A transmission unit of the system is used for transmitting the indication message and/or the contract information of the called terminal to the second WVS server when the AAA server is failed to acquire the message of the first WVS server or when the first WVS server is failed to find. Due to the adoption of the method and the system, the problems in the prior art when the called information is failed to acquire can be avoided.
