Local induction heating of biological tissues

Induction heating of biological tissues, in which the bloodstream is locally blocked by injecting a polymer with a dispersed ferromagnetic into the circulatory system, is modeled. The specificity of living biological tissues is taken into account by modeling the possible nonuniform bloodstream in the heated region, in which the bloodstream is partially or completely blocked and the response of the bloodstream to a local increase in temperature is delayed. Heat conduction equations with different heat sources and heat sinks are numerically integrated to obtain nonstationary temperature profiles. On the basis of these profiles, simple step modes of external energy supply are recommended and the fraction of biological tissue cells that died under the action of heat is estimated.
