funcionaelServiciodeIdentificaciondeHongosToxicos.�LointegranlosinvestigadoresdelProgra - madePlantasMedicinalesyProgramadeHongosqueIntervienenenlaDegradacionBiologica�(PROPLAME- PRHIDEB,�CONICET)�ycolaboraconserviciosmedicos,�estatalesyprivados,�identificandolosmaterialesremitidos � encasosdeintoxicacionesconhongos,�permitiendo,�enmuchoscasos,�realizareltratamientoadecuado.�El� presentetrabajodaaconocerloscasosatendidosporelserviciodesde�1985�hasta�2012�inclusive,�ademasde� unatablaparareconocerlasespeciestoxicasmascomunesdelaregion.�Segunestainformacion,�el�47%�delas� consultasqueserecibieroncorrespondieronapacientesmenoresde�18�anosdeedadqueingirieronmateriales� fungicosdeformaaccidental�(oalmenossesospechabaquelohubieranhecho).�El�53%�restantecorrespondio� aadultosqueafirmaronsercapacesdedistinguirhongoscomestiblesdetoxicos.�Sedetermino�queChlorophy- llum molybditesfuelaprincipalespeciecausantedeintoxicaciones,�lacualescomunmenteconfundidaconel� hongocomestibleMacrolepiota procera.�EnsegundolugarAmanita phalloides,�unhongoaltamentetoxico,�que� secaracterizaporpresentariniciodesintomasenformatardia�(latenciade�6-10�horas),�evolucionandoafalla� hepaticaconelconsiguienterequerimientodetrasplanteolamuerte,�sinoserealizaeltratamientoadecuado� enformaoportuna.� Palabras clave:�agaricales,�hongos,�intoxicacionporhongos Abstract Toxic fungi in Buenos Aires City and surroundings. In Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales,Universidad de Buenos Aires there is a service called Servicio de Identificacion de Hongos Toxicos, directedbyresearchersoftheProgramofMedicinalPlantsandFungiInvolvedinBiologicalDegradation� (PROPLAME-PRHIDEB,�CONICET)�thatassisthospitalsandotherhealthestablishments,�identifyingthedifferent� samplesoffungiandprovidinginformationabouttheirtoxicity,�sothatpatientscanreceivethecorrecttreatment.� Theobjectiveofthepresentstudywastoanalyzeallthecasesreceivedfrom�1985�to�2012.�Thisanalysispermitted� theconfectionofatableidentifyingthemostcommontoxicspecies.�Theinformationgatheredrevealedthat�47%�of� thepatientswereunder�18�yearsofageandhadeatenbasidiomes;�theremaining�53%�wereadultswhoinsisted� thattheywereabletodistinguishediblefromtoxicmushrooms.�Chlorophyllum molybditesturnedouttobethemain� causeoffungalintoxicationinBuenosAires,�whichiscommonlyconfusedwithMacrolepiota procera,�anedible� mushroom.�InthesecondplaceAmanita phalloideswasregistered,�anagaricknowntocauseseveresymptoms� afteralongperiodoflatency�(6-10�hours),�andwhichcanleadtohepaticfailureevenrequiringatransplantto� preventsevereinternalinjuriesorevendeath,�isnotearlyandcorrectlytreated.
