An image projection device for projecting an image corrected according to a projection surface. The image projection device has an imaging section (110) for taking an image projected; a correction parameter calculation section (107) for calculating, based on the taken image, a correction parameter that corrects an image distortion caused by the projection surface; a correction section (108) for creating a corrected image by correcting the image by using the correction parameter; a replication degree calculation section (109) for calculating the degree of replication of the corrected image relative to the original image; an image creation section (111) for creating a guidance image relating to the degree of replication; and a control section (100) for controlling projection of the guidance image.
