Development of an Interactive IoT Area Network Simulator

Recently, IoT systems have been gathering attention due to their ability to provide various types of services by interconnecting a large number of sensor and actuator devices through the cloud. These IoT systems face a number of problems, with an important problem being the inability to change or alter a system in an easy way after it has been deployed. It is therefore necessary to confirm the correct operation of such systems prior to their actual deployment. To this end, the authors are developing an IoT System Simulator. In this paper the details of a part of this simulator, the “IoT Area Network Simulator” are introduced, while also explaining its basic operation principles and demonstrating its effectiveness.
