Provided is a mobile terminal wherein it is possible to prevent the electronic money limit set by a user from being altered. A mobile terminal containing a limit storage unit for storing the electronic money limit, a network interface for receiving via a network a set of limit update information generated by means of a card server in accordance with the notification from a parent user, a limit updating unit for updating the limit stored in the limit storage unit on the basis of the received limit update information when the limit update information is received, a non-contact communication interface for detecting the carrier wave outputted from a reader-writer, and a secure element unit for requesting a purchase when the carrier wave is detected, wherein the limit updating unit is configured to receive from the card server a limit on the basis of whether or not a payment was made with regard to the purchase request in the card server after the purchase request was made and to update the limit stored in the limit storage unit to the received limit.
