Method and system for reversion detection of escalator or moving sidewalk

The invention provides a system for reversion detection of an escalator or a moving sidewalk. The system comprises a first sensor, a second sensor and a reversion judgment unit. The first sensor faces a first detection point, the second sensor faces a second detection point, and the first detection point and the second detection point are positioned on different points of an operating path of a tooth end of a gear driven by a driving wheel. The first sensor and the second sensor generate a first detection signal and a second detection signal according to states of the first detection point and the second detection point respectively. The inversion judgment unit judges whether the escalator or the moving sidewalk is in reversion or not according to the first detection signal and the second detection signal. The invention further provides a corresponding method. Whether the escalator or the moving sidewalk is in reversion or not is confirmed by using the two sensors for detecting operation of the gear, and whether the system is in reversion or not can be judged reliably no matter the system is in acceleration, deceleration or stable-speed operation.
