Objective To explore the effects of the chief resident nurse system applied in infectious hospitals.Methods After setting the post of chief resident nurse,two nurses were selected and trained before the term,each term was half year.The work responsibility and duties were formulated.Results The pressure of the head nurses and night shift nurses was reduced(P0.01),and the basic skill level of nurses improved(P0.01).Conclusions The implementation of the chief resident nurse system can reduce the pressure of the head nurses and night shift nurses,improve the quality of nursing and the capability of managing emergency events of night shift nurses,and ensure the safety of nursing.
