X-ray and dielectric characteristics of new antiferroelectrics Pb(B /SUB 1/2/ Sb /SUB 1/2/ )O/sub 3/

Samples belonging to the perovskite structural type of the general composition Pb(B /SUB 1/2/ /sup 3 +/ Sb /SUB 1/2/ /sup 5 +/)O/sub 3/, where B/sup 3 +/ = Sc(I), Lu(II), Yb(III), Tm(IV), Er(V), or Ho(VI), were prepared. The structural and dielectric properties of these ceramic samples were studied. The new compounds are antiferroelectric with Curie temperatures below 330-458 degrees K.
