Primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the skull base: A case report and literature review

Primary non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma of the bone (PLB) is rare, ccounting for 1–2% of all malignant lymphomas. Approxiately 75% of PLBs originate in the pelvis and limbs. Primary on-Hodgkin’s lymphoma arising from the skull base (PLSB) is xtremely rare. The PubMed database of the National Library of edicine and National Institutes of Health and Google Scholar were sed to search for published cases meeting the definition of PLSBs. he following terms were searched, ‘primary non-Hodgkin’s lymhomas of skull base’, ‘malignant non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma of the ranial bone’, ‘primary lymphomas of skull bone’, and ‘primary alignant lymphomas of clivus’. We examined cases published etween January 1994 and January 2011. Approximately 20 PLSB ases have been reported in the English literature [1]. Only 10 of hose cases have both relatively intact neuroimaging and clinical ata, which are included in this review (Table 1). Currently, there is onsiderably little knowledge regarding this disease.
