B1 uniformity correction of a slotted end-ring coil with mean-shift filtering at 4 Tesla

2016
The quality of magnetic resonance images is greatly affected by the field uniformity of the RF coil. This problem used to detect the signal. There is a growing interest in high field magnetic resonance imaging mainly in applications involving animal models to study a variety of important diseases, where the image quality is of paramount importance. In the past 20 years a number of digital-processing image methodologies have been proposed to overcome this problem. Among these techniques, the mean-shift scheme has proved to be an efficient and reliable method at intermediate field magnetic resonance imaging. The goal in this work is to apply the mean-shift scheme to phantom images with poor uniformity acquired with whole-body magnetic resonance imager at 4 Tesla.
