Internet-Web and St Data Management: Harmonization and New Horizons

Internet and the World Wide Web, a multimedia space, have become a popular success surprising for this kind of documentation. This success is due to the choice of simple indexing tools and to an organization based on hypermedia links and methods of visual navigation. We present here on the one hand a critical analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of these multimedia methods, while on the other hand we look for their possible synergy with less delocalted Specialted Information Systems (SIS) available for handling scientific and technical data
