Computer Networking for Development of Distance Education Courses

1993
This chapter takes the case of teams planning and writing distance education courses as an example of the issues that need to be considered in using computer support through local and wide area networks for work groups engaged in collaborative authoring tasks. It outlines the main issues of a non-technical nature which seem important in influencing the successful use of various readily available software and networking tools by such groups, whether the groups are composed of authors from the same institution, or from different collaborating institutions.
