Measurements of optical spectra of TiI using resonance laser-induced fluorescence
1995
Resonance laser-induced fluorescence is used to study eight optical transitions between levels of the lower a{sup 3}P term and those of the upper terms y{sup 3}D{sup 0} and Z{sup 3}P{sup 0} of Ti in an atomic beam. The isotope shifts are measured for all stable isotopes of Ti, and the hyperfine splitting is found for the {sup 47}Ti and {sup 49}Ti isotopes. A great variation in isotope shifts is found for transitions to different terms, and it is shown that isotope shifts decrease for the transition to a level having a spin equal to 2 in the y{sup 3} D{sup o} term. The influence of the second-order effects on isotope shifts and hyperfine splitting is discussed. 18 refs., 3 figs., 4 tabs.
