Surveillance of HIV,Syphilis and HCV Among Pregnant Women in Pingxiang,Guangxi

Objective To investigate the seroprevalence of HIV,syphilis and HCV among the pregnant women in Pingxiang.Methods During the surveillance period of 2009-2010,800 pregnant women who visited Pingxiang Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital and Pingxiang People's Hospital for the first time were recruited in the study,and blood samples were taken from them to test HIV,syphilis and HCV antibodies.Results The overall seroprevalence of HIV,syphilis and HCV was 0.25%(2/800),2.00%(16/800) and 0.38%(3/800),respectively.The HIV and syphilis seroprevalence in 2009 was similar to that in 2010.The HIV,syphilis and HCV infected pregnant women had the educational level of senior middle school.Most pregnant women with these 3 type infections were aged 25-35 years.One HIV infection case,87.5% of syphilis cases and all HCV infection cases were married pregnant women.Conclusion Sexual transmitted diseases in pregnant women mainly occurred among those who got married in Pingxiang,and the infection had spread from high risk population to general population.
