Overview of the Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndromes in Infancy and Childhood

The multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) syndromes raise several issues of interest to the pediatrician-oncologist. These include the management of functional endocrine neoplasias, the diagnosis of associated endocrine lesions and the screening of asymptomatic relatives in these familial cancer syndromes. When dealing with these neoplasias, a pediatric endocrinologist and an adult endocrinologist need to be added to the traditional oncology team.
