Development of accessibility resources for teaching and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

Necessary resources for education still present content and accessories that are inaccessible to persons with disabilities. In the field of education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, this situation becomes generally a crucial obstacle for the progression of students with functional problems in various modalities and at different times in their careers. Regarding visual disabilities, several projects have been carried out to improve the accessibility of content. They are mainly concerned with making the visual content accessible and editable. Additionally, besides improving accessibility, the problems caused by the lack of tools to support creation activities were addressed, and a framework is thereafter under development. After a short motivational background review, those will be briefly presented, aiming at describing our lines of investigation and proposing solutions.
