LE TRAITEMENT CHIRURGICAL DES GYNÉCOMASTIES

Introduction : Gynecomastia is an hyperplesia of the male breast glandular tissue. It is the most common breast’s problem in men that causes an important embrrassment and distress. Patients are asking for a rapid results, surgical treatment is the best salution. Patients and methods : We have treated 16 patients in the departement of plastic and hand surgery at Avicenne hospital, aged between 16 to 70 years between 1995 and 2002. Surgical technique based on mastectomy through an inferior periarealar incision described by Dufourmentel and Webster, preceded by liposuction which facilitates the excision and ameliorate the aesthetic results. Results : We did no notice any immediate or late post-operative omplications for a period of 4 years, and all our patients were satisfied by the aesthetic results, and lead a normal social life. Conclusion : This treatment has a double effect : knowing the diagnostical aetiology and obtaining a rapid aesthetic results, for our patients whoes previously were embarrassed by their pathology.
