The invention relates to a household appliance, particularly a domestic refrigerator (1). The household appliance comprises an inner space, having an electronics (20) electronic control device, which is arranged at least to control a function of the household appliance during operation of the household appliance, and a door leaf (2) for opening and closing the interior of which a surface facing the interior space inside and having a facing away from the interior of the outer side (7). In the outer side (7) of the door leaf (2) is arranged a recessed grip (4) comprising a handle (13) which forms an undercut (16) with respect to the outer side (7) of the door leaf (2). The household appliance further comprises a lighting with at least one in particular as a LED (21) formed of lamps, which is adapted to illuminate the recessed grip (4). At least a majority of the electronics (20) and the at least one luminous means (21) form a common assembly (22), which is arranged within the door leaf (2) adjacent to the undercut (16) so that the at least one light means (21) to be light from the undercut (16) is able to radiate in the recessed grip (4).
