Influence of indenter cone angle and tip radius on Rockwell-C hardness measurement

1972
Abstract Indenter geometry can influence Rockwell-C hardness measurement. The significance of the cone angle and tip radius of the indenter in Rockwell-C measurement is analysed statistically; hardness values were greatly affected by minor changes in tip radius. The effect of cone angle was negligible.
