Perturbational treatment of the nonorthogonality problem

Nondegenerate perturbation theory is used to connect secular equations in an orthogonal and nonorthogonal basis set. A simple scheme is developed as well as the generalization of a procedure related with Lowdin’s transformation. Both methods are compared.
