Less time spent in training a solution to nurse shortages
2003
Severe shortages of registered nurses have been widely publicized in the professional and political arenas. The main factors contributing to this appear to be recruitment shortfall, nurses leaving the profession and an ageing workforce. Various initiatives have been considered and implemented to address this crisis, e.g. increases in funding for the recruitment and training of more student nurses (Macleod Clark, 2003).
