Research on Deployment Strategy Based on Transfer Ramps for Mars Rover

Abstract: Based on a kind of drawout-expanded ramps for Mars rover, A two-way optional autonomous deployment strategy is analyzed comprehensively. The strategy can realize the breakthrough that two transfer channels are provided by a set of transfer mechanism. In a joint test of transfer ramps, a series of possible failures in orbit are taken into account, and the whole process of the strategy is verified comprehensively with data management software. All telemetry parameters are tested to be normal, thus the strategy has been proved effective and reliable. The research successfully realized the two-way transfer channel of the Mars rover, and verified the feasibility of its independent selection of favorable direction, which provided reliable guarantee for the successful transfer of the Mars rover to the surface. At the end of the paper, three optimization suggestions to the autonomous deployment strategy are proposed, which can provide important ideas for the subsequent improvement of the strategy.
