Multifuncionalidade da mandioca na criação de galinhas caipiras em sistema agroecológico

This paper presents the participatory process of rescue, valorization and innovation of traditionalpractices of cassava in the local chickens raising. The methodology followed the action-researchprocedures. The importance of cassava as a multifunctional component of poultry farmingsystems was evidenced. Among the main functions performed, it is highlighted the livingfence and the diversity of cassava by-products for the birds’ food, allowing their integral use.
