The present invention discloses a process for preparing a fluorine-shaped bow bismuth oxide photocatalyst method and use of a catalyst, said method comprising the steps of: was added to the bismuth nitrate pentahydrate in water, water is added in an amount relative to the volume of 0.4g / 15mL ~ 0.5g / 15mL, stirred for 15 to 25 minutes; and ammonium fluoride was added with stirring, added in an amount relative to the volume of water of 0.2g / 15mL ~ 0.3g / 15mL, stirring was continued for 5 to 15 minutes to form a mixed solution; then the mixed solution was added to a Teflon liner hydrothermal reaction; after completion the reaction was cooled, the precipitate was centrifuged, washed, and dried to give the bow-tie-fluoro bismuth oxide photocatalyst Bi7F11O5. The method is simple, easy to mass marketing, the obtained fluorine-shaped bow bismuth oxide photocatalyst stable, good shape, bow-tie-shaped morphology has not been reported, catalytic degradation of organic matter than conventional TiO2 catalyst.
