READING AND PRODUCTION OF TEXTS

2013
The ultimate goal of education is to prepare individuals capable of acting in their society critically and consciously. To make this possible, school and family should be alert to the development of students by providing grants for the students to actually achieve this goal. Through the research conducted in this study, we observed that students arrive at the 5th grade of elementary school without being able to read simple texts, which shows the absence of the practice of interpretative reading in the classroom, as well as a failure to follow educators and families of students. Unlike proposed for education, the act of reading is still very attached to decode letters, without necessarily understanding by the reader. Through the reading of Vygotsky, Kleiman, Soares and Lerner, realized that the interaction is an essential factor for the success of learning and essential to the process of meaning construction of the act of reading. If we want social change, we must be aware of what kind of citizen is being trained in schools as it is in this space that the pupils will be prepared for life in society. Read and interpret the world in which we live is a right of every citizen, being essential to review the role of the school in preparation for the afterlife. For this, the practice of reading in the classroom should be constant and interdisciplinary, covering all possible genres according to the age and understanding of the students as well as the social context in which they are inserted. However, the success of this practice depends very much on correct approach of education professionals, being necessary to the ongoing training of the same, showing humanistic aspects to building ethical individuals, endowed with values that promote social harmony.
