Assessment of herbicide efficiency in potato crops

2014
A three-year study (2010, 2011, 2012) on efficiency of herbicides in potato fields was performed in the area of Pancevacki Rit, which represents an alluvial plain bordered by rivers Danube and Tamis and channel Karas. Studies on herbicide efficiency included combined application of herbicides influencing wide-leaved and narrow-leaved weed species in the potato fields. Under the conditions of very intensive potato cropping practices (soil tillage, fertilizing, crop care, protection), the applied herbicides showed high efficiency on weeds, depending on characteristics and combinations. The average values of efficiency in the three-year period ranged from 86 to 93%.
