Maximize the savings from pooling. [Multi-Area Production Simulation (MAPS) program]

1983
The Multi-Area Production Simulation (MAPS) computer program from General Electric accurately simulates the operation of a pool that interconnects any number of utilities. With it, planners can investigate the most cost-effective ways to meet future demand; operators can minimize operating costs within system constraints; and both can allocate costs and benefits of pooling among member utilities. A sample application illustrates the types of information available using MAPS. 6 figures.
