Institutional repositories of South Indian UGC recognized Universities: a study

The present study depicts the current status of Institutional Repositories at UGC recognized South Indian Universities. The study covers the aspects like, repository software used, items deposited in their respective repositories, subject covered. The study finds that the development of Institutional Repository in South Indian University is not upto the level and the paper recommends that other universities should also put more emphasis on developing Institutional Repositories and get registered in open access registry of institutional repositories so that the knowledge outcome of an university could be accessed worldwide, which further increases the visibility of the university.
