A new 5.0 ns isomer in 144Eu

Abstract A new 9 − isomeric state having a 5.0 ns half-life has been observed in 144 Eu following the 144 Sm(α, p3n) reactions at 50 MeV. The new isomer most likely has a (π g −1 7 2 v h −1 11 2 ) 9 − configuration.
