Brain and optic nerve ischemia in malaria with immune disorders.

2007
Summary We report an unusual case of Plasmodium falciparum malaria in a European returning from tropical regions associating an anterior ischemic optic neuropathy and an asymptomatic centropontine myelinolysis. The transient antiphospholipid antibodies detected in the patient may have played a role in the ischemic process at the origin of this unusual clinical association.
